Orange Peel Swirl - Sterling Silver & 14ct Gold Filled Carnelian, Emerald, Spinel, Prehnite & Sapphire Wire-Wrapped Earrings - By Blue Almonds

Orange Peel Swirls - Oxidised Sterling Silver & 14ct Gold FilledCarnelian, Emerald, Blue Sapphire, Prehnite & Golden Spinel Wire-Wrapped Earrings

Measurements: the earrings are 5.3cm/2.12” long in total and 1.9cm/0.76” wide at the widest point

Materials: Carnelian smooth heart briolette; Emerald, Blue Sapphire, Prehnite, Golden Spinel micro-faceted roundelles; sterling silver wire (oxidised), 14K Gold Filled wire

First was the Fern Swirl – delicate and light – and then I fall in love with the curves of this design and created a family of Swirls. This one – Orange Peel Swirl is the most exotic of them. The colour combination is unusual for me, very colourful and the Carnelian golden orange shade brings to my mind hot places, full of sun. I added also some warmth of the tropical sea in the blue Sapphires and greenery of palm trees in Emeralds and Prehnites. I oxidised the earrings to bring out the colours and the shape itself.

The Leaves Of Lothlorien By Zaplecione (Guest Designer)

Leaves Of Lothlorien - By Zaplecione (Guest Designer)
This set of bracelet and earings was designed because od Autumn, "Lord of The Rings" and beautiful elfs, who still live somewhere around us. The main boast of this bracelet is ornamental fastering, made with sterling and fine silver, sterling silver beads and lemon quartz rodelles. Two parts of fastening are connected with 3 piece of sterling silver chain, adorned with: lemon quartz rondelles (4-5 mm), sterling silver beads (2.5 mm), tiny lilac freshwater pearls (1.8 mm). Both pieces of fastening were adorned with beautiful champagne quartz briolettes (10mmx7mm). Length with ornamental fastening- 18.2 cm.
The earrings match with the bracelet very well - were made with sterling and fine silver wires, lemon quartz rondelles and champagne quartz briolettes (gems dimensions as mentioned above). Total length (including sterling silver earposts) almost 5 cm. Jewerly was oxidised and polished to bring out the beauty of the gemstones and subtlety of coils.

Birch Leaves - By Små Blå

Meaurements: Drop 8 cm Circles outer diameter about 1.7mm
Materials: Sterling silver wire, green Tourmaline faceted briolettes
Description: “… I'd like to go by climbing a birch tree~ And climb black branches up a snow-white trunk Toward heaven, till the tree could bear no more, But dipped its top and set me down again. That would be good both going and coming back. One could do worse than be a swinger of birches.” Birches by Robert Frost
Once again Robert Frost proved to be a source of inspiration and once again leaves play the dominant part in these earrings, full of texture and movement. The leaves are all handmade from scratch in sterling silver wire and then wrapped to a simple textured sterling silver chain. The chains hang from double wrapped circles and here and there gorgeous green Tourmaline briolettes pop out. The earrings are quite heavily oxidised and the green gemstones give a soft hint of sparkle and colour among the leaves.
