Orange Peel Swirl - Sterling Silver & 14ct Gold Filled Carnelian, Emerald, Spinel, Prehnite & Sapphire Wire-Wrapped Earrings - By Blue Almonds

Orange Peel Swirls - Oxidised Sterling Silver & 14ct Gold FilledCarnelian, Emerald, Blue Sapphire, Prehnite & Golden Spinel Wire-Wrapped Earrings

Measurements: the earrings are 5.3cm/2.12” long in total and 1.9cm/0.76” wide at the widest point

Materials: Carnelian smooth heart briolette; Emerald, Blue Sapphire, Prehnite, Golden Spinel micro-faceted roundelles; sterling silver wire (oxidised), 14K Gold Filled wire

First was the Fern Swirl – delicate and light – and then I fall in love with the curves of this design and created a family of Swirls. This one – Orange Peel Swirl is the most exotic of them. The colour combination is unusual for me, very colourful and the Carnelian golden orange shade brings to my mind hot places, full of sun. I added also some warmth of the tropical sea in the blue Sapphires and greenery of palm trees in Emeralds and Prehnites. I oxidised the earrings to bring out the colours and the shape itself.

Road To Orkney - Amethyst, Prasiolite and Blue Sapphire Wire-Wrapped Bangle By Blue Almonds

Road To Orkney: Oxidised Sterling Silver Amethyst, Prasiolite and Blue Sapphire Wire-Wrapped Bangle Bracelet - by Blue Almonds

Measurements: the bangle is 14cm/5.6” in circumference and although it is slightly adjustable it would fit a petite wrist; the bangle is 2cm/0.8” wide are at the widest point

Materials: AA smooth round Amethyst, Blue Sapphire and Prasiolite micro-faceted rondelles, sterling silver

There is actually no road from the UK mainland to Orkney. One has to travel by boat or plain to get there. Most people would choose the boat and in late autumn time the sea gets very harsh which makes the journey quite uncomfortable. When I started weaving the bangle I was listening to the BBC Radio Scotland which would announce weather forecast every hour and I would hear all the news about ferries being cancelled or delayed. With this picture in my mind my hands produced this wild and wavy shape. The frame was hand formed into waves and the outer part was hammered. I then used over 5 meters of thin silver wire, clear Amethyst beads together with sparkling dark Blue Sapphires. I oxidized the bangle heavily to create this dramatic design. Three little Prasiolite beads were added to soften the shape like a touch of sea foam.

Oxidised Sterling Silver Prasiolite, Citrine, Tourmaline, Vessonite, Garnet, Andalusite and Smoky Quartz Wire-Wrapped Earrings

Release Me - Oxidised Sterling Silver Prasiolite, Citrine, Tourmaline, Vessonite, Garnet, Andalusite and Smoky Quartz Wire-Wrapped Earrings - By Sofie'sC

Measurements: length: 42 mm diameter/width: 10 mm at widest point

Materials: Sterling silver wire and beads, champagne citrine, vessonite, citrine, petro tourmaline, apatite, garnet, hessonite garnet, smoky quartz , andalusite and prasiolite.

I am the wilderness locked in a cage, I am a growing force you kept in place, I am a tree reaching for the sun please don't hold me down, Release me..

These earrings are the first in a series of jewelry inspired by the wonderful song "release me" by the swedish band "Oh Laura" Turning these earrings from idea to reality may have been the most challenging thing I ever made jewelry wise. I really tried to give the impression of wilderness bursting out from it's cage, being released. The wire wrapping in this piece is very intricate and the earrings consist of 22 pieces of hand formed wire wrapped together with a really thin silver wire. The cages have been oxidized and polished to provide an antique look and enhance details. Inside of the cages I have stuffed loads of gemstones of various shape and colour. They really shine through wonderfully. Out of the cage hangs various gemstone beads of different shapes such as marquises, pears and rondells. The earrings are then hung from sterling silver ear posts.

Flink - By SofiesC

Flink: 14ct Gold Filled Crystal Quartz wire-Wrapped Earrings - By SofiesC

Materials: gold filled wire, rock crystal quartz and gold filled beads.

This is a gold filled version of the Pella earrings. This time the shape is a bit softer and drop shaped. These are also a bit bigger than the silver pair. The stone used is a concave cut rock crystal quartz. I love the swirly victorian shape of these. The gold filled wire has been shaped and hammered and just as in the pella earrings the shape of the wire construction is accented by the shape of the bead.

The Pella earrings were the name of one of my most inspiring art teachers. I named these after my other inspiration. The softer more sensitive version of Pella, HÃ¥kan Flink.

Tanglewood - By Orgellan

Tanglewood: Oxidised Sterling Silver, Vesuvianite, Peridot & Smoky Quartz Wire-Wrapped Earrings - By Orgellan

Measurements: From the top of the earhook to the base of the focal gemstone: 1.75 inches (4.5cm)

Deep within the forest, the Tanglewood grows........ The Tanglewood earrings have been lovingly crafted from fine silver and exquisite gems. The hoop has then been woven with ultrafine sterling silver wire, and a spiral flourish added to the inside of the frames. The hoops have then been adorned with a clustering of earth toned gems including burnt orange Spessartite Garnet, moss greenVesuvianite, vibrant Peridot and rich Smokey Quartz. To finish the earrings have been oxidised to a deep gunmetal grey, fitting with the mythical, and magical inspiration of Tanglewood.

Misty Evening - By Sma Bla

Misty Evening: Sterling Silver Olive Quartz, Citrine & Sapphire Wire-Wrapped Necklace - By Sma Bla

Measurements: Length: 49.5 cm Focal incl.bail: 7.5 cm Width of wire wrapped ring: 3cm Focal briolette: 18 x 12.5 x 7.5mm, 8 carat

Materials: Sterling silver wire Tunduru Sapphire faceted rondelles and briolettes Citrine faceted chubby briolettes Faceted Olive Quartz briolette Price incl.

The Misty Evening necklace features a focal divided in two parts – one silver part and one gem part. Both of them intricate in their own way and both of them working together to form a beautiful necklace that can be worn both daytime and evening time. With jeans and a top, it will display an understated elegance for work. Switch to something more formal and let the elegance bloom.

The silver part of the focal is a soldered frame of 1,6 mm sterling silver wire that I hammered flat. I wanted the frame to be embellished somehow so I made silver pearls by melting silver and soldered them on to the frame. I then wire wrapped the frame with hair thin wire and for balance I added a few laps of thicker wire. Within the main ring, I added a smaller oval that I covered completely by weaving hair thin wire over it.

The big silver pearl in the middle has some imperfections on the surface. I could say that it’s completely intentional and that it is my artistic way of showing imperfection in a, in many other ways, perfect world. That would, of course, be complete nonsense. The truth is, the core of the pearl cooled off slower then the surface of the pearl and thus creating these little cavities on the surface. But I liked it! So I kept it as it is, and only gave it a slight sanding.

Below the silver part of the focal, the gems form a spectacular cluster. The main briolette is a stunning 8 carat Olive Quartz faceted briolette with beautiful olive-brownish colour. On top of the Olive Quartz, tendrils of faceted briolettes and rondelles of Tunduru Sapphires cascades down accompanied by faceted briolettes of golden yellow Citrine.

The focal hangs from a simple chain that ends with my hand made hook style clasp.

Weaving The Rainbow - By Blue Almonds

Weaving The Rainbow - By Blue Almonds

Measurements: the earrings are 9.5cm/3.6” long in total and 2.5cm/1.0” wide the widest point
Materials: AAA micro-faceted yellow sapphire rondelles, AA garnet faceted marquises, spinel and kyanite micro-faceted rondelles, sterling silver
This very feminine design was, similarly to the Weaving Autumn Mist pendant, inspired by one of Rene Lalique masterpieces - the Peacock Brooch. This time, however, the hues are more vibrant and full of joy. It recalls the colour palette of a rainbow which I often see here in the Scottish Highlands when frequent and sudden showers together with strong autumn sunshine create heavenly arches; or like the turning leaves of sycamore tree I see on the hills.
The wavy hand crafted frame was delicately hammered and then gracefully weaved and wrapped with meters and meters of sterling silver wire to create a delicate net. To give the impression of a rainbow I used multicolor spinels at the bottom of the frame. I then added little strong blue kyanites in one corner of each earring, like a piece of clear blue sky. Yellow sapphires are like the sunrays - sparkling and shining with gold and warmth. I adorned each earring with a beautiful deep crimson garnet marquise to evoke the true rainbow red.
