Release Me Part Three - By SophiesC

Release Me Part Three - By SophiesC

Measurements: Size of pendant (excluding drop): 2.1x1.5 cm Length of chain: 73 cm

I am the rain that's coming down on you

That you shielded yourself from with a roof

I am a fire burning desperately but you're controlling me

Release me

Release me

This necklace is the last in my series of jewelry inspired by the wonderful song "release me" By the swedish band "Oh Laura"

In this piece I really wanted to portray the image of the desperate fire trying fruitlessly to brake through it's shell as well as the rain that on the contrary is longing to get in and reach contact. The ball is constructed by 6 pieces of hand forged wire and put together by the weaving of a thinner wire around it. I wanted to challange myself with these pieces and make shapes that were new and demanded a whole now level of difficulty compared to my other pieces. The final necklace that came out of it was then oxidized to enhance detail and bring an antique feel to it.

The beads used are crystal quartz, hessonite garnet, petro tourmaline, sunstone and citrine.

The chain is also decorated with beads. It's a long necklace that can be shortnened upon demand. All metal parts are sterling silver.

Release me part 2 - Sterling Silver, Blue Topaz, Apatite and Prasiolite Wire-Wrapped Necklace - By SofiesC

Release Me Part 2 - Oxidised Sterling Silver Blue Topaz, Apatite & Prasiolite Wire-Wrapped Necklace - By SofiesC

Materials: Sterling Silver, Blue Topaz, Apatite, Prasiolite

Measurements: Height of pendant: 2.9 cm width of pendant: 2.3 cm Length of chain: 50 cm

Description:

I am a growing wave without the motion

A glass of water longing for the ocean

I am an asphalt flower breaking free but you keep stopping me

Release me

This is the second part of a series of jewelry I created with inspiration bý the wonderful song "Release me" by the swedish band "Oh laura". I started on this project to challange myself and create new shapes. With this piece I wanted to use a colour that I would not normally use, which is blue, and and try to give a feel of the rolling wave by the sculptural shape of the wire work. It's made out of 12 hand crafted pieces of hammered silver wire forged together by the weaving a tiny 30 gauge wire. The beads used in this project is London blue topaz, apatite, aquamarine and prasiolite. The finished necklace has been oxidized and polished to give it an antique feel and bring out details. As in all of the pieces in the series I wanted to convey the feeling of bursting out of a shell, of being to big for the cage you ended up in and making everything possible to break out. I hope both the lyrics and the piece speaks as much to you as it does to me.

Misty Evening - By Sma Bla

Misty Evening: Sterling Silver Olive Quartz, Citrine & Sapphire Wire-Wrapped Necklace - By Sma Bla

Measurements: Length: 49.5 cm Focal incl.bail: 7.5 cm Width of wire wrapped ring: 3cm Focal briolette: 18 x 12.5 x 7.5mm, 8 carat

Materials: Sterling silver wire Tunduru Sapphire faceted rondelles and briolettes Citrine faceted chubby briolettes Faceted Olive Quartz briolette Price incl.

The Misty Evening necklace features a focal divided in two parts – one silver part and one gem part. Both of them intricate in their own way and both of them working together to form a beautiful necklace that can be worn both daytime and evening time. With jeans and a top, it will display an understated elegance for work. Switch to something more formal and let the elegance bloom.

The silver part of the focal is a soldered frame of 1,6 mm sterling silver wire that I hammered flat. I wanted the frame to be embellished somehow so I made silver pearls by melting silver and soldered them on to the frame. I then wire wrapped the frame with hair thin wire and for balance I added a few laps of thicker wire. Within the main ring, I added a smaller oval that I covered completely by weaving hair thin wire over it.

The big silver pearl in the middle has some imperfections on the surface. I could say that it’s completely intentional and that it is my artistic way of showing imperfection in a, in many other ways, perfect world. That would, of course, be complete nonsense. The truth is, the core of the pearl cooled off slower then the surface of the pearl and thus creating these little cavities on the surface. But I liked it! So I kept it as it is, and only gave it a slight sanding.

Below the silver part of the focal, the gems form a spectacular cluster. The main briolette is a stunning 8 carat Olive Quartz faceted briolette with beautiful olive-brownish colour. On top of the Olive Quartz, tendrils of faceted briolettes and rondelles of Tunduru Sapphires cascades down accompanied by faceted briolettes of golden yellow Citrine.

The focal hangs from a simple chain that ends with my hand made hook style clasp.

Eternal Summer

Eternal Summer - By
Meaurements: 56cm long Focal 5cm drop Biggest flower 3cm in diameter
Materials: 14K gold filled wire, 14K gold filled round beads, 14K gold filled textured chain, London Blue Topaz in two sizes, one flawless Whiskey Quartz smooth briolette
Description: “… And every fair from fair sometime declines, By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd; But thy eternal summer shall not fade, Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest; …”
Sonnet 18, William Shakespeare
This handmade, asymmetrical necklace in 14K gold filled wire and London Blue Topaz faceted rondelles, was inspired by sonnet no.18 by William Shakespeare, which is another of my favourite written pieces. No, it IS my favourite written piece. I recite it, quietly to myself many, many times each month and over the years I must have recited it hundreds of times. And how someone decided centuries ago, to put a few words together and with those words bring tears to my eyes today, is something I will never understand. I do hope I have done the sonnet justice.
I started by shaping the flowers and wire wrapped them in different looks and techniques to add texture and then added one gorgeous London Blue Topaz to each centre and embraced that topaz with a coil of wire. The larger of the flowers also got two round 14K gold filled beads and one smaller, slightly lighter in shade, London Blue Topaz on the petals. One of the flowers also doubles as the hook style clasp, with the hook hidden under the wrapping. The flowers are connected with a 14K gold filled chain that is slightly textured.
The focal is one of the flowers but with an addition of a flawless Whiskey Quartz smooth briolette. It is simply stunning. From the top of the briolette a little cascade of London Blue Topaz rondelles falls.
With the yellow gold and the blue topaz, it will be like wearing an eternal summer around your neck
