Release me part 2 - Sterling Silver, Blue Topaz, Apatite and Prasiolite Wire-Wrapped Necklace - By SofiesC

Release Me Part 2 - Oxidised Sterling Silver Blue Topaz, Apatite & Prasiolite Wire-Wrapped Necklace - By SofiesC

Materials: Sterling Silver, Blue Topaz, Apatite, Prasiolite

Measurements: Height of pendant: 2.9 cm width of pendant: 2.3 cm Length of chain: 50 cm

Description:

I am a growing wave without the motion

A glass of water longing for the ocean

I am an asphalt flower breaking free but you keep stopping me

Release me

This is the second part of a series of jewelry I created with inspiration bý the wonderful song "Release me" by the swedish band "Oh laura". I started on this project to challange myself and create new shapes. With this piece I wanted to use a colour that I would not normally use, which is blue, and and try to give a feel of the rolling wave by the sculptural shape of the wire work. It's made out of 12 hand crafted pieces of hammered silver wire forged together by the weaving a tiny 30 gauge wire. The beads used in this project is London blue topaz, apatite, aquamarine and prasiolite. The finished necklace has been oxidized and polished to give it an antique feel and bring out details. As in all of the pieces in the series I wanted to convey the feeling of bursting out of a shell, of being to big for the cage you ended up in and making everything possible to break out. I hope both the lyrics and the piece speaks as much to you as it does to me.

Description: This is a variation of the Ankaa pendant. This time I used an Oro Verde quartz carved briolette. This necklace has been oxidized and carefully polished to give an antique feeling to it and to enhance the detail of the design.

Road To Orkney - Amethyst, Prasiolite and Blue Sapphire Wire-Wrapped Bangle By Blue Almonds

Road To Orkney: Oxidised Sterling Silver Amethyst, Prasiolite and Blue Sapphire Wire-Wrapped Bangle Bracelet - by Blue Almonds

Measurements: the bangle is 14cm/5.6” in circumference and although it is slightly adjustable it would fit a petite wrist; the bangle is 2cm/0.8” wide are at the widest point

Materials: AA smooth round Amethyst, Blue Sapphire and Prasiolite micro-faceted rondelles, sterling silver

There is actually no road from the UK mainland to Orkney. One has to travel by boat or plain to get there. Most people would choose the boat and in late autumn time the sea gets very harsh which makes the journey quite uncomfortable. When I started weaving the bangle I was listening to the BBC Radio Scotland which would announce weather forecast every hour and I would hear all the news about ferries being cancelled or delayed. With this picture in my mind my hands produced this wild and wavy shape. The frame was hand formed into waves and the outer part was hammered. I then used over 5 meters of thin silver wire, clear Amethyst beads together with sparkling dark Blue Sapphires. I oxidized the bangle heavily to create this dramatic design. Three little Prasiolite beads were added to soften the shape like a touch of sea foam.

Spiced Pear - By Amari

Spiced Pear - By Amari
Measurements:
Length: 49,5 cm
Focal incl.bail: 7,5 cm
Width of wire wrapped ring: 3cm
Focal briolette: 18 x 12.5 x 7.5mm, 8 carat
Materials:
Sterling silver wire
Tunduru Sapphire faceted rondelles and briolettes
Citrine faceted chubby briolettes
Faceted Olive Quartz briolette
Price incl. p&p:
£ 146
Description:
The ????????? necklace features a focal divided in two parts – one silver part and one gem part. Both of them intricate in their own way and both of them working together to form a beautiful necklace that can be worn both daytime and evening time. With jeans and a top, it will display an understated elegance for work. Switch to something more formal and let the elegance bloom.
The silver part of the focal is a soldered frame of 1,6 mm sterling silver wire that I hammered flat. I wanted the frame to be embellished somehow so I made silver pearls by melting silver and soldered them on to the frame. I then wire wrapped the frame with hair thin wire and for balance I added a few laps of thicker wire. Within the main ring, I added a smaller oval that I covered completely by weaving hair thin wire over it.
The big silver pearl in the middle has some imperfections on the surface. I could say that it’s completely intentional and that it is my artistic way of showing imperfection in a, in many other ways, perfect world. That would, of course, be complete nonsense. The truth is, the core of the pearl cooled off slower then the surface of the pearl and thus creating these little cavities on the surface. But I liked it! So I kept it as it is, and only gave it a slight sanding.
Below the silver part of the focal, the gems form a spectacular cluster. The main briolette is a stunning 8 carat Olive Quartz faceted briolette with beautiful olive-brownish colour. On top of the Olive Quartz, tendrils of faceted briolettes and rondelles of Tunduru Sapphires cascades down accompanied by faceted briolettes of golden yellow Citrine.
The focal hangs from a simple chain that ends with my hand made hook style clasp.

Silver Leaves

Silver Leaves

Meaurements: Chain 45 cm Pendant: total drop 9cm Leafs: 7,5 cm / 5,5 cm / 3,5 cm long
Materials: Sterling silver wire
Description: My signature leaf in a new sleek version and in a combination of soldered and wire wrapped elements. I started by shaping three different sized leaves in 1.6 mm sterling silver wire and soldered them closed. The smallest leaf was then wire wrapped and woven with hair thin wire, before I gently curved the leafs for depth. To continue the sleek impression, I made a big oval bail to let them hang from and ended with a smooth silver snake chain. The leafs and the bail have all been annealed and polished to a high shine (the smallest leaf before I wrapped it) and the chain is a high polished, non tarnish chain. Nevertheless I recommend you give this necklace an occasional cleaning to keep it white and shining. You might also want to store it in a closed zip-lock bag. I know – not a very charming way to store your jewellery – but it does keep air out and by that prevents oxidising.

Heart Of princess - By Zaplecione

Heart Of Princess - By Zaplecione
Almost every girl wanted to be a princess once upon a time. Anyway - I wanted to ;) in my preschool age. For the Christmas Party my dad used to make me a paperboard crown, decorated with silverpaper and flowers and my mom would sew a princess gown - red in most cases. And I was ready to go to the ball, where Santa Claus handed toys and sweets out. Only thanks to old photos I may see now how gorgeous princess I once was. These fond memories were my inspiration in designing these earings, made with sterling and fine silver wires, topaz briolettes (9mmx5mm) and pink garnet rondelles (3mm). They glow pink by pink topaz and garnet, delicate and fabulous. Old-fashioned.
The heart frames measure 2.2cm x 2.3 cm (including ornamental post). Total length - 4 cm Earrings were oxidized and polished to bring out the coils and give more old-fashioned look.

Weaving Autumn Mist - By Blue Almonds

Weavig Autumn Mist - By Blue Almonds
Measurements: The centrepiece is 9.5cm/3.6” long and 4cm/1.6” wide the widest point; the chain measures 36cm/14.1” and can be extended to 42cm/16.2“
Materials: AAA micro-faceted yellow sapphire and mandarin garnet rondelles, eye clean lemon quartz twisted briolettes and smokey quartz marquise, andalusite heart briolettes, sterling silver
Here in the north of Scotland we are now experiencing Autumn in its full splendor. Chilly and misty mornings, hills turning brown and trees slowly loosing their leaves - they all together create melancholic atmosphere when you dream of hot chocolate by the fireplace or at least a candle. One such evening I was browsing one of my beloved books with photos of Rene Lalique designs - the essence of Art Nouveau - and I was contemplating the Peacock Brooch… and that was the beginning of the Weaving Autumn Mist pendant. The hand crafted from scratch frame was delicately hammered to achieve the light and airy silhouette. It was then painstainkingly weaved and wrapped with meters and meters of sterling silver wire to create a delicate misty net. Lemon and smoke quartz are of the truly autumny brown-golden palette and andalusite briolettes add to it a beautiful chocolaty-golden-green sparkle. I also added sweet tiny yellow sapphire and golden-orange mandarin garnet rondelles to give some warmth and sun-like sparkle to the pendant. It was hung on small belcher sterling silver chain with hand shaped clasps, embellished with two little yellow sapphire beads. The extension chain is decorated with one smoke quartz marquise.

Lost In A dream - By Orgellan ***NEW DESIGNER***

Lost In A Dream - By Orgellan
Available Exclusively At Wire Boutique
Ethereal blues, with vivid flashes of purple, red and electric flash greys - the 'Lost in a Dream' necklace is the latest addition to the 'Dreamcatcher' series. A new twist on my signature 'Dreamcatcher' weave, with a art deco injection, the focal has been created with handmade fine silver rings, woven with fine, and sterling silver wire. Set in the centre of the weave is a faceted Pink Tourmaline, with a magnificent midnight blue Kyanite below. A laden gemstone tassle of Kyanite, Labradorite, Garnet and Amethyst is suspended from below the 'dreamcatcher', with a dreamy, natural Chalcedony smooth briolette taking centre stage at the base of the piece. The pendant has been attached to lengths of sterling silver chain incorporated with coordinating gemstones. The necklace is fastened with a secure lobster clasp, and fitted with an extender chain finished with a Kyanite briolette. To finish the piece was oxidised and polished to a deep gunmetal grey, highlighting the bewitching dreamlike nature of the gems. Length: 16 inches (40cm) extending to 19 inches (48cm), the pendant measures approx 3 inches (7.5cm) in length.

Tuvstarr - By SofiesC
Available Exclusively At Wire Boutique
Meaurements: 3.9 cm in length and 1.1 in widthMaterials: Prasiolite (AKA Green Amethyst), Aquamarine, Sterling silver
These earrings were inspired by the artist John Bauers beautiful painting "Tuvstarr" where they also got their name. His paintings were often mystical and subdued in colors with amazing details. They are made from skratch with sterling silver wire serving as the base for the ear post and lots and lots of tiny silver beads ornating it. From the ear posts hang clusters of prasiolite and aquamarine rondels and to finish the earrings off I added a pair of beautiful prasiolite heart briolettes. There is a great deal of wire work put in to the earstuds that have been carefully coiled to look pretty even from the back. The earrings have also been oxidized and carefully polished to bring out details. This piece, as well as all other jewellery from SofiesC, is also available for custom orders in other sizes, beads or metals.

Grape Wine - By

Grape Wine - By Små Blå
Available exclusively at Wire Boutique

How do you make an attractive adjustable ring using wire wrapping technique? A ring that will look fabulous, hold its shape and preferably have a gorgeous gem wrapped to it. A problem I’ve been occupied with for quite some time now and I am so happy to finally have figured it out. I started with making a trial ring for myself and I’ve gotten so many compliments about it. It’s discreet, but still an eye catcher.
Handmade from scratch with love (and patience), silver wire and a stunning Amethyst faceted rectangle in the most beautiful dark purple/grape wine colour. I shaped a ring shank with 1,2mm thick sterling silver wire and gently, gently hammered it for strength and shape. With the help from the tension in the ring’s shank I fastened a coil made from different thicknesses of wire and to get a little sparkle I wire wrapped the Amethyst to the shank. I normally oxidise my jewellery, but for some reason this ring wanted to stay white and shiny. So I only gave it a gentle buff with polish and left it as it is.
The ring is 18mm in diameter in the position it is in the pictures i.e. in its most closed position. It can be adjusted to a slightly smaller or bigger size with about 1-3mm by squeezing the wrapped end with Amethyst under the coil or gently pulling it away from the coil. Well, it can actually be made much bigger then that, but due to the position of the Amethyst I wouldn’t recommend making it too big. Chances are the Amethyst will get hidden between the fingers then.
This ring is available for custom orders. Maybe you would like a different stone, a different size or maybe one in 14Kgold filled? Just contact The Wire Boutique with your requests. Please note delivery time is longer for customs order and will depend on what material you want and what I have on stock.

Lady Snowdon - By Gemheaven

Lady Snowdon - By Gemheaven
Available Exclusively At Wire Boutique

Meaurements: The focal Tanzanite measures just over 0.5" or 1.5cmThe complete focal is 2" or 5cm approx - and at it widest 1.5" or just under 4 cm approxThe chain measures in length 18"/ 45.5cm extending to 19" / 48cm
Materials: Tanzanite, blue topaz, kyanite, sterling silver, natural blue chalcedony.
Description This necklace was designed and created after reading a beautiful book called Here Be Dragons by Sharon Pennan. Totally created with the heroine Joanne - Lady of Snowdon - in mind, I made the necklace regal and elegant. This fabulous tanzanite focal in the centre wire-wrapped piece inspired the colour scheme which includes blue topaz, Kyanite, natural blue chalcedony and lemon Quartz. Creating a sumptious chain to compliment with outstanding blue topaz stepped ovals and blue kyanite rondelles wire-wrapped to meet the chain - I think just defines the beauty of this piece. The Lady of Snowdon is Joanna - wife of the Prince of Wales Llewellyn. Joan was never called Princess of Wales, but, in Welsh, "Lady of Wales". She died at the royal home, Garth Celyn, Aber Garth Celyn, on the north coast of Gwynedd in 1237. Llywelyn's great grief at her death is recorded; he founded a Franciscan friary on the seashore at Llanfaes, opposite the royal home, in her honour. The friary was consecrated in 1240, shortly before Llywelyn died. It was closed down in 1537 by Henry VIII of England during the Dissolution of the Monasteries.
